Mission Statement
The Primary Mission of the Morton Grove Fire Department is to provide a range of programs designed to EDUCATE the business and residential community in the principles of prevention, and to TRAIN the people who serve our Community, thereby PROTECTING the Lives and Property of the citizens of our Village from the adverse effect of FIRES, SUDDEN MEDICAL EMERGENCIES, or exposure to DANGEROUS CONDITIONS created either by Man or Nature.

2009 Goals
- Continue to provide efficient and economical services to the community consistent with the values and standards expressed in the mission of the Department and the directives of Village leadership.
- Efficient and effective emergency response activities.
- Effective implementation of approved capital equipment.
- Enhance organization and cost containment in the operation of department facilities.
- Continuation of a comprehensive training program for all levels of the department.
- Develop and enhance external partnering opportunities to maximize benefits to our customers. Implement comprehensive plan as adopted by RED Center Board of Directors.
- Take an active role in the support and development of regional intergovernmental programs that provide enhanced community services in a cost effective manner.
- Continuous evaluation and maintenance of departmental procedures, practices and policies.
- Continue to provide high quality pre-incident services through the Fire Prevention Bureau
- Review and amend incident pre-plans
- Residential Smoke Detector Program
- Continued delivery of the Remembering When Senior Injury Prevention Program
- Efficient delivery of various public education programs
- Continue to coordinate the Village’s effort to become compliant with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) as mandated by the Department of Homeland Security.
- Delivery of training and education to appropriate staff and elected officials
- Integration of the Village Emergency Operations Plan (EOP)
