Village of Morton Grove
GOVERNMENT
Freedom of Information Request

The Illinois Freedom of Information Act is the principal Illinois statutory enactment governing the inspection and copying of public records. Illinois courts have long recognized that "good policy requires liberality in the right to examine public records". The records that must be made available include information regarding the official acts and policies of government. However, some exemptions do apply, including but not limited to, records containing personal information; records related to law enforcement, investigations and corrections; and records containing legal proceedings or litigation.

To facilitate your request for review and/or copying of any public records, please complete the "Written Request for the Inspection or Copying of Public Records" form. For your convenience, you can download the form by clicking here. The ordinance 05-34 undating rules of procedure can be viewed by clicking here. The completed form can be faxed to the fax number at the top of the form. In some cases, you may be charged a copying fee to fulfill your request. In those instances, the cost is $0.15 per page.

The Village will be cooperative to allow you to review and copy public records in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act. Should you have any questions regarding the provisions of the Act or how to complete this form, please do not hesitate to contact the Village Administrator's Office at (847) 470-5220.
