Impacted Area: Parking stalls on the west side of FERRIS, north & south of HENNINGS CT.
Trial Period: May 28, 2017 to August 21, 2017

In an effort to ensure the safe and efficient flow of traffic through our community and/or provide for right of way maintenance or appropriate use of Village streets, Village personnel routinely review areas of the Village in order to recommend changes in traffic restrictions where appropriate. Recently, as part of this review, it was determined that sightlines of drivers eastbound on HENNINGS CT. desiring to turn onto north or southbound FERRIS may be impeded by vehicles parked in the first parking stalls on the west side of FERRIS both north and south of HENNINGS CT., causing unsafe conditions.

Specifically, one parking stall on the west side of FERRIS immediately north and south of the intersection will be eliminated. This will result in the elimination of a total of two stalls on FERRIS.

Municipal Code Section 5-1-4 authorizes the Police Chief (with approval from the Village Administrator) to make temporary changes to Village traffic regulations for the purpose of determining the appropriateness of permanent changes. Therefore, for a period of 90 days, from May 28, 2017 to August 21, 2017, the Village will eliminate the parking stalls, and the Police Department will monitor the situation. Residents and businesses are encouraged to provide their feedback to the Village during this trial period.
