Amazon Fresh Coming to Morton Grove

A spokesperson for Amazon Fresh Store released information to the media of plans to open a 35,000 sq ft store at Sawmill Station (6939 Dempster Street) in Morton Grove. The Amazon spokesperson stated, “We are hiring hundreds for this store, and right now we’re hiring Zone Leads.” Prior to this release, the site developer was restricted from providing the name of the anticipated grocery tenant. The Village of Morton Grove is excited to welcome this long-awaited grocery store. The Village has not received any additional information as to an anticipated opening date. Construction Activity Continues at Sawmill Station

Construction continues on the 250-unit multi-family development at Sawmill Station. The developer, UrbanStreet Group, plans on a phased delivery, with residents starting to move into the building in November of 2021. The project is scheduled to be completed by April of 2022. On the commercial lot, Cooper's Hawk, Starbucks, Aspen Dental, Dollar Tree, Kohl's, Raising Cane's, and Bank of America are currently open to the public. Ross is scheduled to open this summer and the Grocer is anticipated to open their doors in Q3 of 2021. The Village and developer, Kensington Partners, are working aggressively to fill the remaining sites and complete the lifestyle center.

The Village is featuring Boba Burger, located in the Classic Bowl bowling alley at the intersection of Waukegan Road and Caldwell Avenue. Check out this family-owned and operated snack shop, which has been serving Asian fusion burgers, hot dogs, bahn mi sandwiches, and salads since 2015.
