The Greener Morton Grove Award program recognizes businesses, organizations, groups, and multi-family residential facilities in Morton Grove that have promoted or implemented environmentally sustainable practices. Achievements may be in the categories of waste reduction and recycling, water and energy conservation, public education and awareness, and transportation, but all applications are welcome. The Village appreciates the importance of everyone in the Village, including government, schools, residents, businesses, and community organizations, working together to reach our sustainability goals.

- Schools, churches, libraries, and park districts serving Morton Grove residents
- Condominium homeowners’ associations
- Apartment building owners and managers
- Scout troops
Example Projects
Unsure if your project qualifies? We welcome all applications and encourage everyone to tell us what sustainable actions you are taking. Here are some examples of possible initiatives that would qualify:
- Installing recycling containers
- Planting native species
- Installing LEDs
- Installing high-efficiency appliances
- Volunteering
- Using recycled or reused materials
- Holding contests or campaigns to promote sustainability
- Increasing public awareness around sustainable practices
- Composting
- Using green cleaning supplies
