Harlem Avenue from Dempster Street to Golf Road and Shermer Road between Dempster Street and Harlem Avenue will be resurfaced beginning later in the week of August 21. The graphic shows the limits of the work in red lines.
Ciorba Group, Inc. will be handling the construction engineering responsibilities for the Village on this project. ALamp Concrete Contractors, Inc. will be the contractor. The work consists of asphalt pavement resurfacing, limited curb and gutter removal and replacement, curb ramp improvements, and utility structure repairs.
Streets will be open to two-way traffic during the workday. Barricades and cones will close lanes to separate the construction zone from the travel lanes. Parking will be temporarily prohibited as needed. Please be safe, patient, and alert when driving through the construction zone.
Residents abutting the construction limits have received a construction notice from the Village as well as from Ciorba Group to provide a point of contact and more detailed information about the project.
The Contractor will post “No Parking Signs” before any work will begin in a specific location. Vehicles should not be parked within the temporarily restricted parking zone. Violators may be ticketed and/or towed. Temporary street parking for loading and unloading will be permitted whenever possible. Driveway access will be temporarily eliminated where curb or sidewalk is replaced across the entrance.
