The Village has been working with residents to develop solutions to address traffic and parking congestion in the area of Menard Avenue from Oakton Avenue to Keeney Street during student drop-offs and pick-ups. Starting later this month, the Village will implement the following experimental restrictions on Menard Avenue between Oakton Avenue and Keeney Street:
❎ No parking, standing, or passenger drop-off on school days from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM.
❎ No parking, standing, or passenger drop-off on school days from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM .
❎ No parking for more than one (1) hour on school days 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM, except vehicles displaying Zone 1 permit beginning at a point 150 feet north of the centerline of Oakton Street to Keeney Avenue.
❎ No U-turns.
Additionally, U-turns will be prohibited on Warren Street from Major Avenue to Marmora Avenue. Please note that these parking restrictions are experimental and will be used to determine whether permanent restrictions should be implemented in the area to address traffic issues.
