
Anyone wishing to host a garage sale or yard sale on residential property in Morton Grove must submit a Garage Sale Permit Application and obtain a Garage Sale Permit. Permits are issued by the Village’s Finance Department at Village Hall, 6101 Capulina Avenue. No more than two (2) permits may be issued for any residential property in a single calendar year. Joint applications will be counted against the owner/renter of the property where the sales occur. The Garage Sale Permit fee is $10. Sales may be conducted only from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday through Sunday.

Rain or shine, the 2025 Community Garage Sale will be held on the weekend of Friday, June 6, through Sunday, June 8, 2025. Register using the link below by Tuesday, May 20, 2025, to be included in the Community Garage Sale maps! This is a great opportunity to find local treasures around Morton Grove, as well as clear out a few treasures of your own.
Sign pick-up will be Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Village Hall (6101 Capulina Avenue).
* Note that garage sale space for residents of multi-family properties will no longer be offered on Village property. Please work with your condominium association or rental management company to obtain prior authorization to hold a sale on your multi-family private property.Â
2025 Community Garage Sale Sponsorship
The Morton Grove Community Relations Commission is pleased to extend an exciting marketing opportunity to local businesses and organizations. We are inviting your business or organization to be a sponsor for this popular community event and for garage sale signage displayed throughout the year. Last year, we had a tremendous turnout with over 130 households participating, and we expect this year’s event to be even bigger! As a sponsor, your business or organization will have the unique opportunity to gain exposure across the community.
Sponsor perks include:
- Logo on Garage Sale Signs: Each participating household will receive two custom garage sale signs to place at and near their homes to attract attention. Your business name or logo will be prominently displayed on each sign. The signs will not only be used at the Community Garage Sale, but by residents holding garage sales throughout the year!
- Multi-Channel Promotion: Enjoy exposure on the Village's promotional material, including its website, Facebook and Instagram pages, and Community Garage Sale maps to be available at Village Hall and online.
- Community Engagement: Align your business or organization with a popular community event, demonstrating your commitment to local engagement, residents, and the community.
Sponsorship levels:
- Standard Sponsorship: $350 (limited to a maximum of 6 businesses/organizations)
- Exclusive Sponsorship: $2,000 (sole sponsorship, will receive priority over standard sponsor applications)
How to become a sponsor:
- Complete the Sponsorship Form and submit payment to Village Hall no later than Friday, April 18, 2025.
- Sponsorships will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Standard sponsorships are limited to a maximum of six (6) sponsors and priority will be given to an exclusive sponsor. A business or organization must be in good standing with the Village to be a sponsor.
