The Village Encourages Green Businesses and Looks for Business Partners for upcoming Expo

The Environment and Natural Resources Commission is excited to announce the first annual Sustainability Expo to be held September 11, 2021 from 10 am to 2:30 pm at the Morton Grove Civic Center. This is a great opportunity for your business to show what efforts you are taking to help our community go green.

Is your business ready to go green with us? We are looking for sponsors, table hosts, and companies to join this important event. We have opportunities to get involved and show your support for helping Morton Grove improve and build upon sustainability efforts and initiatives within the Village.

Good environmental stewardship shows your company’s commitment to the health of our community. Adopting green practices demonstrates that your company has the good of the Morton Grove community at heart. The Village is here to help you go green. We have programs in place like:
• Restaurant and Commercial Composting from Collective Resource
• Free Energy Audits
• Sponsorship opportunities for ENRC events and upcoming Sustainability Expo
• And more! Reach out to the ENRC today to learn more about greening your business

Embracing environmental responsibility ensures a reduction in costs for businesses of all sizes. Recycling, composting, using energy-efficient office equipment and implementing water-saving devices all save money by cutting costs. According to the Center for Small Business and the Environment, small businesses have reported savings of 20 to 30 percent by making energy-saving moves.

Today’s consumer looks for companies to be aware of and taking steps towards greening their business. The Village wants to partner with you to help your business take these necessary steps to help protect our environment and resources. If you want your business to attract the increasingly large environmentally conscious marketplace, it should become known as an eco-friendly organization.

Regardless of the type of business you own or manage, taking a green approach has many advantages. Making a positive impact on the environment helps to yield increased sales, profits, and positive PR! Green practices incorporate and enhance all of the elements critical to building a sustainable company: lower operating expenses, powerful marketing, solid public relations, good brand awareness, and a company that, like the Village of Morton Grove, have made it their business to go green!
